this one competed with new year's day. gravels, jam band in a shed out in the country with a wood burning stove, sled/luge racing at high speed in total darkness, beers and more general jackassery. not too high on miles but tons of fun which suited my post-metric recovery just fine.

Jam band in the barn? Wish I had made that one. Could you move the Iowa gravel a few hundred miles southeast? Can you book Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, Tea Leaf Green, or String Cheese for your March ride? I'll bring the brownies.
Hellmut,Gumby and myself have been meeting on Wednesdays at 8:30 pm. Yep, have some dinner, put the kids to bed and then go out and ride. We usually do 3 hours with the lights. I am excited with the prospect of making a trip out to Decorah before T.I.

Are you in the Rockford, IL. area?
We have gravel riders out in Dekalb, IL near N.I.U.

Ari,
I am down by Louisville, Ky. There is not much gravel here so I am going to have to find some for some bumpy miles before heading to Decorah.
